REASON FOR EXAM:
56-year-old male evaluate for CVA
Right-sided weakness and numbness
Right-sided visual disturbance
TECHNIQUE:
Neck MR angiography using pre-contrast and post-contrast 3-D time-of-flight coronal slab imaging.
10 mL Magnavist
Post-processing including 3D volumetric MIP and coronal subtraction images.
FINDINGS:
RIGHT CAROTID SYSTEM:
There is normal flow signal in the right common carotid, right internal and right external carotid arteries.
There is no significant stenosis.
RIGHT VERTEBRAL:
There is normal flow signal throughout the right vertebral artery.
Flow signal is seen in the right vertebral artery to the level of the basilar artery.
LEFT CAROTID SYSTEM:
There is normal flow signal in the left common carotid, left internal carotid, and left external carotid artery.
There is no significant stenosis.
LEFT VERTEBRAL:
There is normal flow signal throughout the left vertebral artery.
Flow signal is seen in the left vertebral artery to the level of the basilar artery
NASCET Criteria

There is no significant stenosis involving the carotids.
